Post-Bariatric Surgery
Post-Bariatric Surgery
Objectives
Significant weight loss brings great health benefits. However, after substantial weight loss, whether through surgical procedures or diet and lifestyle changes, the skin and tissues may not have sufficient elasticity to adapt to the new body contour.
Post-bariatric surgery removes excess skin and fat from different anatomical areas to improve body contour and proportions. The procedures included are as follows:
-Arm lift: Corrects excess tissue under the arms.
-Breast lift: Corrects sagging breasts lacking support and volume.
-Facial lift: Corrects the sagging of facial structures in the middle third and neck area.
-Abdominoplasty: Corrects excess tissue that may hang from the abdomen.
-Thigh lift: Improves excess tissue in the inner thigh region.
Indications
Abdominoplasty may be indicated in patients who:
- Are adults with stable weight.
- Are healthy individuals without preexisting medical conditions that contraindicate surgery.
- Are non-smokers or have quit smoking at least one month before the procedure.
- Have realistic expectations and an optimistic mindset.
- Are committed to continuing a healthy lifestyle and good dietary habits.
